$86,000
Imagine
there is a bank which credits your account each morning with
$86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day, allows
you to keep no cash balance, and every evening cancels whatever
part of the amount you had failed to use during the day.
What
would you do?
Draw
out every cent, of course!
Well,
everyone has such a bank. Its name is TIME. Every morning, it
credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off,
as a loss, whatever of this amount you have failed to invest
to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft.
Each
day it opens a new account for you.
Each
night it burns the records of the day.
If
you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours.
There
is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow".
You must live in the present on today's deposits.
Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness
and success!
The clock is running. Make the most of today.
Seize the day!

If
I Fail
If
in my quest to achieve my goals
I stumble or crumble and lose my soul
Those that know me would easily co-sign
There was never a life as hard as mine
No parents-no money-no chance-no guide
I only follow my voice inside
If it guides me wrong and I do not win
I'll learn from mistakes and try to achieve again.
"You
Are Worthy"
Do
not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Do not set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.
Do
not give up, when you still have something to give
Do not let life slip through your fingers by living in the past,
nor for the future.
But by living life one day at a time, you live all the days
of your life.

Nail
in the Fence
A Good Story for Great Friends

There
once was a little girl who had a bad temper. Her mother gave
her a bag of nails and told her that every time she lost her
temper, she must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The
first day the girl had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over
the next few weeks, as she learned to control her anger, the
number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. She
discovered it was easier to hold her temper than to drive those
nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the girl didn't
lose her temper at all. She told her mother about it and the
mother suggested that the girl now pull out one nail for each
day that she was able to hold her temper. The days passed and
the young girl was finally able to tell her mother that all
the nails were gone. The mother took her daughter by the hand
and led her to the fence. She said, "You have done well,
my daughter, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will
never be the dame. When you say things in anger, they leave
a scar just like this one." You can put a knife in a person
and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm
sorry, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as
a physical one. Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make
you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they
share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts
to us. You are my friend and I am honored. Please forgive me
if I have ever left a hole in you fence.

I
was at a time a man who had no direction and had abused my mind
and soul.
I
did drugs and drank and ran in the streets very hard. I lied
and cheated and stole.
I
first realized I had a problem when I ended up in prison and
in hospitals. It was a life of misery and pain.
I
thought in my own sick mind that I was all right and everything
would workout but I only still felt pain.
My
life was going nowhere and I was dying slowly and had no way
out.
I
finally ended up dead, the doctors kept me alive and God gave
me a second chance and let me see my way out. God is great,
loving, merciful, and almighty. I praise him at all times I
shout it out.

Today
when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day
of my life, ever!
There
were times when I wondered if I would make it to today, but
I did! And because I did I'm going to celebrate!
Today,
I'm going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had
so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and yes, even
the hardships because they have served to make me stronger.
I
will go through this day with my head held high, and a happy
heart.
I
will marvel at God's seemingly simple gifts: the morning dew,
the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds. Today,
none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice.
Today,
I will share my excitement for life with other people. I'll
make someone smile. I'll go out of my way to perform an unexpected
act of kindness for someone I don't even know.
Today,
I'll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I'll
tell a child how special he is, and I'll tell someone I love
just how deeply I care for them and how much they mean to me.
Today
is the day I quit worrying about what I don't have and start
being grateful for all the wonderful things God has already
given me.
I'll
remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith
in God and his Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine.
Tonight,
before I go to bed, I'll go outside and raise my eyes to the
heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and
the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.
As
the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank
the Almighty for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the
sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because
I know tomorrow is going to be
.
The Best Day of My Life!
